Bulk binning gurus Local Press Wholefoods are hosting a pre-loved re-loved fashion event to promote sustainability across the fashion industry as well. On Thursday 28 November 6-9pm, Canberrans are encouraged to be part of the solution.

More and more upcycling produce is on our mind, and this event will make us focus on using the same method to re-purpose pre-loved clothing into useful items to be re-loved.

Attendees can participate in a sewing workshop led by local fashion designer Bianca Pavlic. Used clothing and shoes will be sold, and proceeds will be donated to the not-for-profit charity GIVIT. Guest speakers will share tips on making better choices for the planet and for their wallets.

“Ticket holders can expect to be greeted with a glass of Mallaluka shiraz, house-made canapés, and a live music performance by Danny Pratt. We want to treat Canberrans to an evening of nibbling and mingling and hope they walk away feeling empowered about their participation in the fight against fast fashion.”

After great success from their wholefood’s café on the Foreshore, Local Press opened a Bulk Grocer in 2018, vowing to take responsibility for its social and environmental impact.

Tickets are available on Eventbrite or at Local Press Wholefoods. Limited spaces.
