If you’ve been around the Kingston Foreshore lately you may have seen some very exciting work being done on the vacant venue neighbouring Walt & Burley. A lively start to 2022, the space has now reopened as a summer gin bar, mixing up epic G&T’s and vibrant gin cocktails, refreshing every Canberran that walks by.
Side Bar has popped onto the Foreshore as a canvas to activate the local industry. The brand and space is dynamic with the ability to transition to suit an array of brands and offerings, giving them a moment in the spotlight. First on the rotation our favourite local distiller, Underground Spirits who will exclusively provide their award-winning gins and knowledge to the bar over summer.
Proudly distilled in Canberra, Underground’s high-quality gins have been recognised around the world and is Canberra’s most awarded spirits brand. Verified with multi award wins, their gin is distilled using all natural ingredients. Through their meticulous process they now produce four gins: their signature, shiraz, wild native and spring all featuring in a unique G&T on the menu.
Visitors can expect each gin variety paired with a range of garnishes that elevate the flavours, a lengthy list of cocktails that are go hand-in-hand with summer as well as craft beer and wines. For nibbles, charcuterie platters will also be available to complete the experience.
The bar will also be open for private functions to those wanting to secure their own private summer bar. Further plans include hosting a range of hospitality product launches, events, tastings and workshops.

Officially launching today (Friday 14 January) from 4pm. Ongoing the bar will be open Thursday to Saturday from 4pm.
