National Science Week in the ACT will launch amidst fire and ice at the Shine Dome on the 14th of August, starting a week-long celebration of science.

On Friday 15 August pull on your sneakers and run along to Questacon for the next SciNight as this popular adults-only event explores the science behind sport. The programme features appearances by the Canberra Roller Derby League skaters, the Canberra Cavalry mascot and staff, Local science communicator Phil Dooley and strong woman Penelope Asterisk. Visitors can also enjoy science shows, demonstrations, hands-on activities, the mega-bites café and bar, plus explore Questacon’s interactive galleries kid-free! Doors open at 6pm and tickets are $10 available at the door.

SciNight is just one of many events happening this National Science Week, which will run from 16-24 August. There are astronauts, trivia nights, giant snails, aeroplanes, supercomputers, artists, panel discussions, authors and so much more!
