If you were wondering what one of the best jobs in the hospo biz was, Sam Studd might just have the answer. The hottest name in cheese, Studd is a renowned cheese expert and is coming to Canberra for one night only.
Headlining the Oozy Boozy Cheese and Wine Market (Friday 7 to Sunday 9 June) at Canberra’s newest event space, The Vault, Studd will be joined by Le Cheeserie and Canberra Wines for a tasting session.
On Saturday 8 June, from 7-9pm, Studd will guide guests through a tasting of the world’s best cheeses, pairing them with exceptional local wines. He will also provide insights into how to taste like a professional and tips to help pair it with the perfect drop. Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase and get signed copies of Studd and his sister Ellie Studd’s book, The Best Things in Life are Cheese.
“We are thrilled to bring Sam Studd for a one-night-only appearance. Having him on board allows us to offer an unmatched experience tasting exclusive cheeses paired with Canberra’s best wines narrated by Australian cheese royalty,” says Co-Founder of Le Cheeserie, Alex Royds.
Aside from the exclusive tasting session, the Oozy Boozy market will offer the best of local Canberra wines and a curated selection of top-shelf international cheeses. Including an Italian stemless wine glass, a cheese board, and samples of local wines and international cheeses, guests can explore an array of offerings from the cellar and cheesemongers, and purchase their favourites to take home. Additionally, the market will have raclette, burrata blue cheese cones, caviar and a variety of delicious condiments to accompany your samples.
We have run Dairy Road, Cellar Door for a number of years now and we wanted to add to that unique wine experience. We’ve scoured the national cheese market, and there’s nothing quite like this combination of cheese and wine in Canberra,” says Curator and Founder of Dionysus, Dave Caffery.
Tickets for both the tasting and market can be found at The Vault.
