Celebrate the festive season at Old Parliament House!

Until Christmas, see the giant Salvation Army giving tree in Kings Hall, adorned with handmade Christmas decorations by local artists. This giant tree forms part of the annual Motorcycle Riders Association Toy Run, happening 10am this Saturday 14 December. You can witness over 800 motorbikes at the front of the building, what a sight!

Whilst you’re here, read Christmas cards penned by former prime ministers or listen to choirs singing carols in King’s Hall this Saturday and Sunday. And when you need a break…enjoy festive fare in the Terrace Café, including eggnog – alcoholic and non-alcoholic, white Christmas and gingerbread trees.

The end of 2013 has welcomed the return of Friday night drinks, the hot spot within the Parliamentary Triangle. Kick your weekend off in style with relaxed beats, enjoy delicious bar snacks, weekly cocktails and great wines on offer. Friday drinks up happen until Christmas (but watch this space, they could be back in early 2014).

And the must see for everyone, young and old. The year’s best political cartoons, b>Behind the Lines 2013, is now on display. See the moments of tragedy and comedy from a turbulent political year depicted by some of the country’s most talented political cartoonists. You’ve never seen a year like this in politics!

But that’s not all folks. There’s much more happening in January at Old Parliament House. To be continued next week…
