On Saturday 22 September the Nishi commercial foyer was filled with a very fashion-forward and excited crowd at the much-anticipated first Hustle&Scout Twilight Fashion Market. The aisles between each designer stall were packed with people wanting to see and take in absolutely every creative piece and getting lost in the hype of the evening.
The A.Baker pop up espresso cart was selling coffee and yummy snacks in the center of all the madness while the Palace Electric Prosecco Bar offered a place to relax and sip on a cocktail or glass of wine while gushing over purchases with friends.
The standout of the evening was the display on the Japanese-inspired staircase (soon to be the entry to the new hotel awaiting it’s opening by HotelHotel) which featured live music from local music acts – Amber Nichols, James Pender and DJ Jayo, and for decoration – pot plants, wicker chairs and live mannequins. That’s right: real people dressed in gorgeous vintage threads (by April’s Caravan) in frozen poses to complete the entire real-life artwork. It was a sight to be seen, and had on-lookers staring with great appreciation.
Absolutely every corner was filled with something interesting and eye catching. Designers Perpetually Five, Rancho designs, wnd.lnd, Jade Stone, Zaric, Character, April’s Caravan, Rockstars & Royalty and Corr Blimey were just some of the local designers showcasing their creations.
Later in the night Haus Models put on a spectacular fashion parade that was just as innovative and out-of-the-box as the market. The models hit the runway wearing hand-picked pieces from each of the featured designers and fun animal masks which really tied in with the theme and provided a perfect end to a great event.
Tegan McAuley, the founder of Hustle&Scout wanted the night to be more than just a market. Her vision was for the event to be an experience for the customer, a feast for the senses. We think that Hustle&Scout definitely achieved its goals and cannot wait for whats in store for the next one on December 14th! Click here for more info on the Hustle&Scout website.
