Well, as promised, a great collective featuring many of Canberra’s best street artists gathered together on Sunday to redecorate Tocumwal Lane – a long-neglected part of central Canberra.

The atmosphere was amazing. As DJ Juzlo belted out tunes from a tent located in the centre of the space, around fifteen artists worked on ladders, at ground level and with each other to fully realise the theme of Superheroes, Villains and Sci-Fi across the many walls.

One piece, that was coming together nicely at midday, was located on the wall that runs behind City Walk. Local artists JRB and Houl worked on either side of Sydney’s Sprinkles to create a cohesive design. Be sure to head down and check it out.

The Tocumwal Lane pARTy was a great collaborative effort by not only the artists, but by Canberra CBD Ltd who negotiated with the building owners, and Geoff and Dan (A.K.A. Byrd) from Graffik Paint who organised the painters. Geoff was clearly thrilled with the results. “We’ve done something amazing here. I think this is going to become a Canberra tourist attraction…and that’s really cool.”
