Strap yourselves in, Canberra. This year, on the ever-popular My Kitchen Rules, Andrew Hinge and Emelia Vimalasiri will provide a local component as the first-ever contestants from the ACT.
This season six Aussie couples will be hitting the competition kitchen for some intense cook-offs and challenges! You can expect the usual contest – not just of cooking, but of personalities as well!
To give you an idea of who’s-who in this year’s edition, the couples have been nicknamed; the Married Cheesemakers from NSW, the Well Travelled Friends from WA, the Married 38 Years couple from SA, the Twins from VIC, the Surfer Dads from QLD and our favourites (of course!) local Newly Dating Couple from ACT.
Last night (Thursday) we were treated to a meet and greet with Andrew and Emelia at a fun little media launch at the National Arboretum. The great news for viewers is the couple are quite outspoken and weren’t afraid to let us in on some mistakes and disasters that happened while on the show.
We also got a sneak peak of what we can expect to see (including some awkward and clumsy moments!). The pair then cooked one of their delightful snacks called ‘morsels of happiness’, signed special MKR aprons and took a ‘selfie’ with a young fan!
In 2014, My Kitchen Rules will again see the contestants travelling to each state around Australia to dine at each of the contestants pop-up restaurants inside their own home kitchen. This challenge cements where each couple are headed in the competition before going head-to-head with the other couples in the MKR Kitchen.
Look out for twists and challenges like you have never seen before. This season is set to be full of surprises!
