With Summer almost over and slowly fading away, why not try these cool Insta-worthy ice creameries in Canberra to satisfy and meet your summer heat treat needs?

With so many melt in your mouth and diverse flavours, the feeling of summer will never die out no matter if the weather dies down. As a sucker for sweets, I can confirm I have tasted and fallen in love with these amazing places listed and had to share them with you all.

Messina

Located on the trendy and hipster-like Lonsdale street precinct in Braddon,  this place is gelato and sorbet heaven. It offers a wide variety of rich and sweet flavours, catered to you by the friendliest of staff in an overall relaxed space. It is perfect for a night out in the city with friends or with the family, to grab an ice cream, sit back and enjoy. Not only is it known for its gelato and sorbet, but also their good quality coffee and rich and creamy thick milkshakes. It definitely has to be one of my favourites.

(P.S. would definitely recommend the boysenberry gelato, one of the best flavours I swear!)

Gelatissimo

You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy gelato and that’s kind of the same thing. This popular and well known franchise, originally family owned in 2002, is the perfect place to have homestyle gelato. This classic and growing business has become internationally recognised for its amazing gelato, that now has many stores open Australia wide. It is definitely a family favourite, located all over Canberra such as in Manuka, Gungahlin and the City Centre, to satisfy your gelato cravings wherever you are. There are so many flavours of gelato there to try, would definitely give this one a go if you haven’t already.

Movenpick

Want a break from the typical Italian Gelato? Movenpick is the place for you. This Swiss slice of heaven is located on the Kingston Foreshore in Canberra. It showcases an authentic taste and unique selection of flavours such as banana, blueberry cheesecake, Crème Brulee, caramelita, forest fruits and sweet cream, coconut, maple walnut, Swiss chocolate and so many more. Perfect for individuals, families and ice cream, gelato and sorbet lovers to experience a delicious and quality taste of Swiss-style sweets. It also caters to coffee lovers, waffle lovers and pancake lovers as this menu has it all. What better way to end the day than to watch the sun go down, and the little boats go past on the water, whilst indulging in a mouth-watering sweet.

Goodberry’s

Looking for something simple and sweet to enjoy? Look no further. Goodberry’s is familiar to all, providing ice cream and custard lovers with a rich and thick blend of concrete custard with all the flavours to choose from. With two locations across Canberra, in Belconnen and Erindale, this family owned, small, yet classic ice creamery caters to lovers of sundaes, milkshakes, thick shakes, coffees, smoothies, frozen cakes and so many more. It is specifically known for its frozen custard that comes in a concrete or sundae form. Unlike any other place, Goodberry’s is perfect for picky and indecisive people like myself, as you can customise and choose your toppings.  If you’re looking for something to cool you off, whatever the time of day is, that tastes amazing, Goodberry’s is the place for you!
