The hype has built for the new eateries opening at the Westfield Woden’s Bradley dining precinct, among them The Bavarian will open its doors Thursday 18 April with 500 free German hot dogs from 11am to get things on a roll.

A true taste of Bavarian hospitality, from cultural hints in the interior décor, to quintessential dishes and a range of international and local beers will be on display. Try a traditional Bavarian favourite, such as The Bavarian’s legendary crispy pork knuckle, crackling pork belly, a range of classic German and gourmet sausages, shared platters, and an assortment of schnitzels. Lighter bites include chicken wings, spicy squid and build-your-own salads from a checklist of fresh ingredients.

The Bavarian Woden launches with two fantastic meat platters, each designed to share between two people. The pork platter ($35 per person) features half a crispy pork knuckle, smoked pork belly and crackling, Nurnberger pork sausage and soft bao buns. A BBQ platter ($35 per person) comprises of meaty pork ribs, spiced pulled pork, smoked pork belly, corn on the cob, soft pretzel buns and is served with cabbage slaw and pickles.

Affordable dinner specials are a weekday winner. On Mondays it’s a chicken burger and drink of choice ($15), a two-for-one deal on any regular schnitzel on Tuesdays and refillable All You Can Meat platters ($35 per person) every Wednesday. On Sunday the focus is on families, with children under the age of 12 eating for free from the kids’ menu with a paying adult.

A generous happy hour runs from 4pm to 6pm every day with $5 beer, wine and spirits and $1 chicken wings. And arguably the highlight is 20 beers on tap!

An ivy-strewn, al-fresco dining area is positioned at the entrance of the restaurant and provides seating for up to 60 guests. Beer barrel tables, with high stool seating, are situated next to an enclosed garden which is filled with lush green plants. Several large-screen TVs throughout the venue offer an exciting schedule of live sports games.
