In partnership with Floriade, Canberra Centre has installed an exclusive art piece celebrating the spring festival with Lego’s legendary Brickman, Ryan McNaught.

The floral-themed display sees over 100,000 bricks made up of tiny flowers which come together to form a giant one-metre-tall letter blocks spelling out the word ‘FLORIADE’.

One of only 20 certified Lego professionals in the world, Ryan ‘Brickman’ McNaught is known for his role as a judge on Chanel Nine’s Lego Masters series hosted by Hamish Blake.

Taking close to 400 hours for McNaught and his team (including Lego Masters season three Fleur Watkins and Harrison Barnett) to build, the exact number of bricks is yet to be disclosed. However, allowing shoppers to enter a competition to guess the number, if you happen to guess the closest (or exact) number of bricks you will receive two double passes to Floriade’s vibrant Nightfest celebrations, as well as a $500 Canberra Centre Gift Card.

The display will also double as a community engagement activity, allowing shoppers to create two Lego flowers of their very own, one to take home and another to add to Brickman’s piece to create a Lego Brick Community Garden.

The community-made flowers will be added to the installation each evening, which will see the piece grow just as the flowers of Floriade grow throughout the festival.

“We really value our partnership with this festival and the amazing community of people surrounding it. It’s an enormous tourism driver for the region, which is so important for Canberra Centre to get behind,” says Canberra Centre General Manager, Gary Stewart.

The display will be installed on the glass floor on Level 1 of Canberra Centre in front of Zara. To be apart of the Lego Brick Community Garden, visit the Centre’s Lego-certified store from 17-30 September between 11am and 2pm. For more information visit https://canberracentre.qicre.com/
