Ever wanted to experience Christmas in winter and get the full experience that we only see in the movies? Well, a little piece of it is coming right here to Canberra, in the form of a French Christmas in July market that will completely transform the National Rose Gardens into a winter wonderland.

From 1-4 July stroll through Christmas trees and wooden chalets as you enjoy a wide selection of French delicacies, wines and gifts, as well as Christmas movie screenings and a magical snow lane.

If that isn’t enough to get you excited for winter, here are the highlights of what to expect.

French Food Feast

Go on a culinary trip around France and try some of their much-loved traditional winter foods such as the famous gooey raclette from the alps, flammkuchen pizza from the East of France, Normandy crepes, macaroons, waffles, wines and more!

Mulled Wine Garden

A beer garden is great, but maybe not when the temperature reaches below 0 degrees. Warm yourself up with a steamy glass of spiced mulled wine with a hint of cinnamon, cardamom and cloves.

Fire Pit & Roasted Marshmallows

Gather around the crackling fire with friends and family while perfectly roasting marshmallows and keeping warm.

Christmas Movies Under the Stars

Choose from a hand-picked selection of Christmas movie classics and enjoy a unique outdoor cinema experience at night – make sure you rug up for this one! Tickets from $10.

Snow Lane

To complete the whole winter Christmas experience, wonder through a magical lane with real Christmas trees, lights and snow cannons shooting into the sky.

The Christmas in July markets is a free event, open from 10am-10:30PM, 1-4 July.
