Dan Banks Band, one of Canberra’s most loved bands return to the capital to launch their brand new single ‘She Got Me’ on Sat 14 August 2010.
Born in Switzerland to Australian parents, Dan and Jules Banks formed a musical alliance at a young age. Dan’s fascination with his father’s collection of Australian Blues guitars and Jules’ love of the endlessly rotating Jazz records soon merged and, upon their return to Australia, Jules picked up the saxophone, eventually graduating with first class honours from Jazz School. Dan honed his guitar skills, moving from rock bands to playing his own material, solo, in front of crowds at open mic nights, and supporting other local acts in our capital.
Now completed, the new Dan Banks Band album is a unique blend of folk, blues, and reggae which flows from punchy horn sections to heavy slide guitar riffs, to French jazz inspired mandolin trills and delta blues driven banjo blues.
