Make your summer weekends last longer as you settle back into the working grind. Take in one of the best views in Canberra and chill out to some breezy summertime music at the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House.

The past two weekends have seen Kooky Fandango and The Night Café at The Terrace Café. The buzz in the air has been phenomenal, with the summer vibe rising high in the sunshine.

This Sunday, from 1.30-3.30pm, see The Light Workers. They perform beautiful timeless, easy listening and jazz numbers, mixed in with a few pop tunes. And to finish up the month, next weekend (26 Jan), don’t miss The Cashews, who perform original folky-pop, with gentle humour and references to Canberra’s landscapes.

Whilst you enjoy the great summer music, enjoy a delicious antipasti platter and 2 glasses of sangria for a fantastic Sunday offer of $20! (Valid 10am-4pm on 19 and 26 January)

But that’s not all…while you’re waiting for the music to start, come along to see Chris Wilson (Cartoons by Chris) who will sketch your caricature, and you get to keep the drawing too. He’ll be in the Downstairs Gallery from 12.30-3.30pm. Then make sure you check out Behind the Lines 2013 to compare your drawing to the best political cartoons of 2013.

There’s never been a better time to visit the Museum, with something surprising around every corner. Plan your weekend at Old Parliament House now!
