Capslock Collective is a collaborative project between five Canberra hip-hop acts Coda Conduct, Context, Semantix, Stateovmind and Nix. Each artist has a unique sound, yet they all share the same passion for building their local hip-hop community and raising Canberra’s standing on a national scale.
This is all about bringing the local hip-hop scene together to utilise shared experiences and contacts to develop Canberra’ musical offerings. The group aims to provide a point-of-call for interstate artists as well as musicians, venues and punters in the ACT. The Capslock Collective is a project that they hope will help to transform the Capital’s hip-hop scene to one that develops nurtures up-and-coming talentand promotes the city’s leading acts to a broader audience. With several of the members having organised Canberra’s local hip hop night The Next Movement the Collective appreciate the difference that a connected and active community can make for musicians.
Join Capslock Collective for the launch on Saturday 9th of November at Transit Bar, with a broad range of performances illustrating the many sides of hip-hop. Admission is $12 at the door and this is an 18+ event.
