Get out and about in Canberra during the Canberra Festival!

From Friday 11th to Sunday 20th March, the national capital celebrates its 98th birthday with a huge program of events and performers.

The flagship event, Celebrate in the Park, will be held on the Canberra Day public holiday, Monday 14th March, and will host a big program of entertainment in Commonwealth Park.

Highlights will include performances by Jimmy Barnes, The Potbelleez, Justice Crew, and former Australian Idol local favourite Luke Dickens. Bob the Builder and plenty of rides and activities will amuse the kids, plus an evening fireworks display will provide a dazzling end to the long weekend celebrations.

The Canberra Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Guy Noble, will present A Night on Broadway at Symphony in the Park. Enjoy a compilation of Broadway favourites that will be sure to have everyone humming along under the stars on Sunday 13 March, at Stage 88 in Commonwealth Park.

Canberra’s premiere race day the Black Opal Stakes, The Balloon Spectacular, the Lights! Canberra! Action! short-fim competition, the Big Canberra Bike Ride, Nitro Circus Live, Festival of the Forests, and the 2011 Canberra Carp-out are just a snapshot of other events on offer.
