A star studded line-up of Aussie musicians are set to perform right here in our nation’s capital for Australia Day Live ’08. The line-up promises to get crowds on the lawns of Parliament House grooving on Friday 25th January 2008.

Australia Day Live will bring together the Australian of the Year Awards 2008 with a celebrity concert featuring some of Australia’s hottest performers.

The live acts confirmed for the concert include Blue King Brown, Katie Noonan, Thirsty Merc, The Basics, Ben Lee, Gotye, Richard Clapton, Ricki Lee and The Veronicas.

National Australia Day Council director Warren Pearson encourages everyone to join the fun and excitement and help kick-off nation wide celebrations for one of the most important days on our national calendar.

“This year’s line-up showcases the great diversity of Australia’s music scene from the alternative pop sounds of Ben Lee, the sampling genius of Gotye to the teen pop sensations The Veronicas.”

Mr Pearson believes 2008 will see the biggest Australia Day Live turn out yet, with thousands set to flock to the grassy area for the annual concert.

“We’re expecting another big turnout at the 2008 concert following on from the record 35, 000 music fans at the 2007 event. The action will start at 5.30pm, so come down early to grab a spot on the grass,” he said.

If you can’t make it to the concert, you can catch it live on The Nine Network.
