Let’s face it, there’s simply nothing like the energy and excitement of Latin dancing. Fortunately for Canberra, we’ve got our own three-day festival to showcase the varied styles and expressions, and the Canberra Latin Dance Festival just keeps growing! In 2015, the festival is to be held over the weekend of 16-18 October at the ANU Sport and Recreation Building. With this central location and a host of international stars, this year’s programme looks bigger and better than ever!

Join Italy’s Simone Sanfilippo & Serena Maso, Vera Rowe & Uriel Garcia (USA), and Emily Glubb from New Zealand as they guide devotees through showcase sessions of Salsa and Bachata. More than this, there will be more than 70 workshop that focus on the full range of Latin dancing styles with salsa, bachata, zouk, cha cha, samba and more.

However, a festival can’t be all hard work and dedication! On Friday and Saturday nights the CLDF brings the fun with all-in dance parties where participants can dance alongside the world’s very best. Set across two rooms, DJs set the mood and the floor comes alive with the energy and excitement of a Latin celebration in full swing.

There is a range of tickets available, with Night Party Passes available from just $35.00 (this is worth buying for the Dirty Dancing re-enactment alone!). For those looking to take in as much of the incredible opportunities and experiences offered by the festival, $290.00 will grant you access to the entire range of offerings from the festival’s opening to close.

So, if you’re even remotely interested in the energy of Latin dance, be sure to get along to at least one session of this year’s CLDF. For those already a part of this welcoming, social and supportive community, you know exactly what to expect… a lot of fun!
