Canberra’s Lunetta has officially been named ACT Restaurant of the Year at the Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Awards.

Perched up at Red Hill Lookout, the restaurant only opened its doors in November 2024, but has quickly captured national attention with its refined Italian menu, fire-driven cooking, and stunning space. This latest accolade follows a string of awards, including a Good Food Guide Chef’s Hat earlier this year, the Monocle Design Award for Best Renovation, and the Enduring Architecture Award from the Australian Institute of Architects.

The win places Lunetta alongside some of the most exciting restaurants in the country, having also been named one of just six finalists for Best New Restaurant in Australia.

For co-owner and restaurateur Tracy Keeley, the recognition is the culmination of years of vision and dedication.

“We’re deeply honoured to be named ACT Restaurant of the Year. Lunetta has been a labour of love from day one, from restoring this beautiful Red Hill landmark to crafting each detail of the dining experience. We’re so grateful for the support from our guests, the Canberra community, and our extraordinary team who bring it all to life each day,” she said.

Together with its sister venue Lunetta Trattoria located on the floor below, this culinary duo is redefining dining in the capital.

Guests can expect open-fire cooking, seasonal produce, sustainable practices, and sweeping treetop views that make every meal a truly unforgettable experience.
