Contemporary dance at its most evocative and beautiful is coming to the capital, with the Sydney Dance Company’s National Tour of new show ab [intra].

In Latin ab [intra] means “an exploration of our primal instincts, our impulses and our visceral responses,” says choreographer Rafael Bonachela.

“From tenderness to turmoil, ab [intra] is a journey of intense human existence that will command your attention,” he says.

The music fuses lush cello concerto with ambient electronica and the exquisite dancers occupy an arresting ethereal world – there is even a warning that the production contains haze.

Don’t miss this electrifying journey showcasing Australia’s best contemporary dancers.

ab [intra] takes to the stage at Canberra Theatre Centre from Thursday 20 August to Saturday 1 September.
