Canberra is set to level up its fashion and beauty game this month with the arrival of the highly anticipated Australian Designer Precinct at Canberra Centre.

Launching Thursday 18 September, the new precinct brings some of the country’s most coveted fashion and beauty names to the capital — many for the very first time. Shoppers can look forward to a fresh retail experience at the newly transformed Ainslie Mall, now reimagined as a destination for style, sophistication, and luxury.

MECCA leads the line-up

The arrival of MECCA is set to be a major drawcard. Their new flagship store will feature an elevated beauty experience with the MECCA Apothecary, a dedicated Perfumeria, semi-private skin beds for treatments, and a curated edit of cult beauty brands. To celebrate, MECCA will gift the first 4,000 customers with a Beauty Loop present, alongside exclusive offers and in-store experiences.

Designer debuts in Canberra

For the first time, Canberrans will also have direct access to some of Australia’s most loved designers:

  • Viktoria & Woods – Opening their first and only Canberra boutique, the iconic label is marking the occasion with white tulips and light refreshments for the first 30 customers, plus gift vouchers for purchases over $500.

  • Rebecca Vallance – Known for her structured tailoring and refined femininity, Vallance’s arrival brings a new era of elevated occasion wear to Canberra.

  • Scanlan Theodore – Minimalist design, premium craftsmanship and timeless fashion from one of Australia’s most enduring labels.

  • July Luggage – Sleek, functional travel companions, with a complimentary gift for the first 100 customers.

Fashion favourite Kookai will also join the precinct shortly after launch.

Opening weekend celebrations

Canberra Centre is giving shoppers even more reason to visit. Between Thursday 18 and Sunday 21 September, spend $250 or more and you’ll receive a complimentary gift valued between $20 and $400.

A new chapter for retail in Canberra

“This is a strong endorsement of Canberra as a retail destination,” says Canberra Centre General Manager Gary Stewart. “We’re proud to welcome so many leading Australian brands to the heart of the city, giving our community access to retailers they’ve been waiting for.”

With fresh spaces, exclusive experiences and coveted designer labels, the new Australian Designer Precinct is set to be Canberra’s go-to destination for style this spring.
