The biggest little festival on the South Coast is set to sizzle in Kangaroo Valley this September with the return of the Kangaroo Valley Craft Beer & BBQ Festival.

Transforming the beer garden and back paddock of the locally loved Friendly Inn into a BBQ battleground and beer lovers’ paradise, it’s just an easy 2 hours and 20 minutes for Canberrans with the reopening of Moss Vale Road.

Held over Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September, there will be heaps of BBQ caterers and sweet treat food trucks to enjoy. Plus, the opportunity to watch as The Australian BBQ Association and Australasian Barbeque Alliance host BBQ Battles. Think you know your meat? There’s even the opportunity to decide who takes home the trophy for best pork ribs or top beef brisket with a judge’s weekend pass.

To quench your thirst, there will be over 80 beers and ciders to sample from breweries such as 4 Pines, Dangerous Ale, Jervis Bay, Cupitt’s Estate and Canberra local BentSpoke. If you’re more of a wine or spirit lover, don’t worry, there will also be tastings from South Coast’s Tara Distillery and Corang Estate.

With fun for the whole family, choose to go trackside at the competitive lawnmower racing, take a punt on the live piglet racing, go for a spin with a helicopter ride above the valley and enjoy live music, petting zoos, archery and face painting.

An exciting celebration of the region, it’s the perfect weekend getaway. Kids under 12 are free and a 1-day adult pass is $25. Buses will also be available from Nowra, Bomaderry and Bendeela camping grounds.
