Welcoming in the new school year and kicking off the infamous and highly anticipated O-Week, UC Live presents O Yeah! on Friday 3rd of February from 8.00pm. The all Aussie line-up includes Hungry Kids of Hungary, Loon Lake and Atluk.

Popular featured band, Hungry Kids of Hungary will complement the lively nature of O-Week with their unique indie pop sound. New and existing students can expect the band to perform a mix of fan favourites and hits including ‘Coming Around’ and ‘Set it Right’.

Event Recap: Heatwave @ EPIC

Saturday January 21 saw some of RnB’s hottest acts descend upon Canberra for Heatwave @ EPIC, and for the ultimate feast of RnB and Hip Hop, the menu was spot on!

Acts included D12, Obie Trice, Crazy Town, D’Opus and Roshambo, Koolism, Tech N9ne and Canberra’s own DJ Rush.

To get the audience warmed up, talented Aussie DJ’s graced the stage; DJ Skae, Eitha Deon, Collossus, KP Records Big Dave, Grant Who? N2W Kitty B, Dlinkwnt and Bishop, and DJ Rush.

Family man who loves to style

Canberra’s very own Adam Ciaccia of Axis Hairdressing in the City has made it into the top three finalists for the Australian Hairdressing Fashion Awards (AHFA) NSW/ACT Hairdresser of the Year Award for 2012.

Adam, the nephew of Axis owner and mentor Gianni Ciaccia has come a long way since his days as being a ‘helper’ at the salon. "I started at Axis back in 1998 where I would answer the phones, run errands, that sort of thing" said Ciaccia.

"I was studying Book Keeping at CIT at the time and decided to abandon that path and become a hairdresser."
