Stonefest 2011 Restructured

Canberra’s longest running music festival, Stonefest, has announced that this year’s event at the end of October has changed.

The previously announced lineup including The Vines, Jebediah, The Grates, Josh Pyke, Jonathan Boulet, Stonefield, Owl Eyes, Lanie Lane, Hunting Grounds, Big Scary and 360 will instead be replaced with a smaller event.

Despite the new name, Stonefest ‘Rock On’ Party, the new lineup is missing all of its rock and indie acts, and instead features a lineup of dance and hip hop.

With the slogan, ‘The burgers are better at Charlie Black,’ plastered across the side of the Manuka venue, we couldn’t help but be intrigued.

Perched on the corner of Furneaux and Franklin Streets, Charlie Black is perfect for drinks, dining and people watching.

The menu offers a selection of starters, pizzas, burgers, pastas and meat dishes. The meals are very reasonably priced, but the quality is still a notch above what you’d expect at a brasserie.

All Our Friends at Night delivered keen Canberrans a chance to enjoy a taste of this year’s Parklife lineup without making the trek up to Sydney.

UC Live and Pang! hosted the international, all-star lineup accompanied by Canberra’s very own Peking Duck who opened the show, followed by a collaboration between Offtapia and Cheese preparing the crowd for the guest stars.
