Event Recap: Groovin the Moo 2012

Afraid to confront the cold weather but keen to see the unique combination line up of rock bands, DJ’s and hip hop artists, Canberrans and even some out-of-towners flocked to the University of Canberra ovals for Groovin the Moo (GTM) on Sunday May 13.

Despite the freezing temperatures anticipated since the week before, keen festival goers maintained the summer spirit and kept the festival fun with an array of interesting outfits. Rugged up in an outfit fit for the snow, literally, we were ready to spend the day in the meadows and embrace the atmosphere of Groovin the Moo.

Win a double pass to Splinters

The Human Rights Arts and Film Festival returns to Canberra again this year on Monday 28 – Wednesday 30 May.

This festival aims to celebrate awareness of, and participation in Human Rights and will showcase a special selection of its best international documentaries over three nights.

On Wednesday 30th May at 7pm, five double passes are up for grabs to see the festival’s closing night film, Splinters.

Event Recap: Daniel Merriweather @ UC

It was a brutally cold May evening in the capital when Daniel Merriweather landed at the trendy little cavern that is Zierholz @ UC.

Those attempting to escape the chill were in for a delectable treat, as the night opened with local six-piece, Funkasaurus.

I had never heard of this group but was pleasantly surprised to discover that the majority of the band was made up of members from the Canberran hip hop group; Raw City Rukus.
