WIN A DOUBLE PASS!

Corinbank final release tickets are selling fast, and with just 16 days to go until the award winning festival kicks off, there’s still plenty of surprises under wraps, including the festival program – set for release early next week.

If last year is any indication, punters can expect outback mountain bike riding, immersive arts and exciting, creative workshops alongside the already bustling music line-up; You Am I, Clare Bowditch, Ash Grunwald, Urthboy, Astronomy Class, Dalas Frasca and more.

Adding to Corinbank’s ‘immersion’ mantra, the team have just announced more than 20 Creative Campsites, set to once again play in integral role in Corinbank’s community spirit.

The Creative Camps concept allows any festival goer to add their touch of flare to the Corinbank program, and they come in many different flavours, from quirky knit graffiti to the ‘burning rings of fire’ Johnny Cash project.

Punters can visit fellow camper’s tents to stencil their shirt, cook their dinner in a solar oven, sample some home-brew, or revive the lost art of letter writing (including receiving a real reply) at the cleverly titled Literary Revolution camp.

Forgot your toothbrush or batteries? The Backup Plan camp will sort you out or test your orienteering skills at the Mapping the Bank camp. The little ones can learn to play music or make a clay sculpture at the Creative Kids camp, while the Yarn Bombing camp will teach you the finer art of knit graffiti, and no doubt leave behind a tree-cosy or two! If you’re feeling macho or just a little bit too sun-kissed to make sense out of anything, test your mettle at the chilli-eating competition campsite.

Creative Camps manager Erika Alacs said she’s overjoyed at the response they’ve had to the creative camps program in 2010. “The numbers of camps have been steadily growing over the years, and most pleasingly, people are really grasping the concept and come up with some wonderful ideas.”

The Creative Camp program is an experimental gifting community. Campers offer their experiences in return for experiences offered by their fellow campers. “There’s no commerce in the creative camps, unless you count smiles as currency!”

With more that 20 camps to explore, including one rumoured to be run by two of the festival directors, Corinbank really is no ordinary festival. If you want to be part of the fun, you best act quick. Final release tickets are selling fast!
