Canberra trained fashion export, Anthony Capon, has turned heads once again with the launch of his debut collection, a.concept at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week (RAFW). The flamboyant winner of Project Runway Australia Season 2 was named ‘it’ boy for his clever man skirt designs, use of black and high quiff.

a.concept’s Spring/Summer 2011 walked the RAFW runway as part of the RTW 3 Group Show. The other labels to show with a.concept were Humility Couture, Mawla’i, Nana Judy, Premonition and {Un}NakeD.

Anthony’s a.concept was a clear stand-out in all aspects. With clever layering, dramatic silhouettes and (as always) varied use of black textures, Anthony was able to create a showstopper collection.

White and gold head to toe looks also added to the overall Egyptian theme of the collection and heightened diversity and drama.

“The only hiccup I had was with Virgin Blue losing my suitcase with a few items in it, including most of my headpieces as well as the lining and pattern from Alyssa Sutherland’s dress I was making for her,” Capon writes on his blog.

Capon gushes at the media feedback and positive support saying, “It was also amusing seeing Kochie on Sunrise talk about man skirts! I think they forget that I know who my market is, and Kochie is definitely not someone I’d want near my collection.”
