Canberra interior design graduate, Gracie Turtle, has recently launched her own jewellery label Grazy Design in Brooklyn, New York.

The Canberran is currently residing in New York on a working holiday, interning at Ecosystems, a sustainable design agency in Brooklyn.

Since launching The Urban Natives: By Grazy Design at New York’s young designer market, The Market NYC, Gracie has formed a following of keen fans with their own, unique piece of Grazy.

“My Colombian background deeply influences my collection. In fact, all materials are sourced from Colombian silver mills and industrial workshops in Brooklyn. It’s all recycled and in-line with my sustainable design ethos,” Gracie said.

Gracie’s designs are currently manufacture in Bogota and each Urban Native is hand cut in Colombia, from fine silver. Only 10 of each design are produced and personally signed and numbered, making them exclusive and unique.

“I’m currently stocking at The Market NYC and a boutique in Soho called Sloann. New Yorkers love it because my Urban Natives are big and bold – like them. Snoop Dog wants one!”

Gracie plans to return home to Canberra in July, hitting the Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne market scenes, along with lining up Australian boutique stockists, in addition to expanding internationally.

“I’m excited to return home with my designs and launch my label in Australia. I’m all set now.”
