This week sees a Canberra institution celebrate nine years of bringing incredible music to Canberra. Transit Bar, that wonderful subterranean centre of great live music is setting up a week filled with even more great acts.

Here’s what’s in store for a big week of entertainment.

Tuesday 12 May

It’s the grand final of this season’s Karaoke Love! From 9.00pm, you can see the best of the best as they battle it out for $1,000 prize. Entry is free.

Wednesday 13 May

The Funkoars, another of the great South Australian hip-hop acts bring the beats and rhymes of their fifth LP, In Case of Emergency, to the Transit Bar stage. Grab tickets here.

Thursday 14 May

Australian Punk and Hardcore doesn’t get much more legendary than The Hard-Ons. The Sydney band has maintained the rage for well over thirty years. Head on down to witness part of Australia’s music history.Grab tickets here.

Friday and Saturday 15 & 16 May

Transit Bar puts on some of their favourite Canberra bands Favourite Canberra bands. Join in with Foreign Kings, D’Opus and Roshambo, the Ansah Brothers and Moochers Inc. Entry is $10.00 after 9.00pm.

Sunday 17 May

Transit favourite Adalita (from Magic Dirt) returns with her long players, Adalita and All Day Venus. You can expect a heap of new tracks as well as some of her favourites. Grab tickets here.
