The two least objectionable members of The Chaser team, Chris Taylor and Andrew Hansen, are this month embarking on a national tour of their two-man comedy show, appropriately titled One Man Show.
The pair is performing in Newcastle, Wollongong, Adelaide, Canberra, Brisbane, Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth; and will also give a private performance in the Corby compound at the Sentosa Seminyak luxury resort.
The 70-minute show takes the pair back to their university revue roots, and evokes the anarchic, freewheeling spirit of their best-loved television show The Chaser’s War on Everything, by combining sketches, songs and topical satire. Among the show’s numerous targets are property developers, HBO obsessives, social media addicts, the new Abbott government, the Coles advertising campaigns, gay marriage, tabloid hysteria and the antiquated culture of elite private schools.
One Man Show marks the pair’s third collaboration as a duo, following their hit musical comedy Dead Caesar for the Sydney Theatre Company in 2007, and their 5-part radio mockumentary The Blow Parade for Triple J, which became the number one podcast in the country, and which won the 2010 ARIA Award for Best Comedy Release.
Andrew Hansen and Chris Taylor’s One Man Show is on at the Canberra Theatre for one night only, Thursday 6 March. Click here for tickets and further information.
