The Musica Vitae concert at Orana Steiner School is bringing together performers from across the ACT and NSW for a weekend of music with purpose.

Directed by celebrated Canberra composer, conductor and educator Judith Clingan AM, the concert features a choir and ensemble of singers from across the region, including Cooma, Batemans Bay, Bowral, Sydney and the ACT.

Together, they’ll take audiences on a wide-ranging journey through musical history, from medieval chants to 20th-century works, with a strong focus on Australian composers including Liam Waterford and Ruth McCall.

The real drawcard is the second half of the program which features Clingan’s own 2024 composition, The Prophet. Based on the poetry of Kahlil Gibran, the work brings together philosophy, poetry and music in a deeply reflective performance.

More Than Just a Concert

The best part is that every ticket supports a meaningful cause. All proceeds from the performances will be donated to Love Works Africa, a Canberra-backed charity working in rural Zambia to help children access hot meals, uniforms and the resources they need to attend school.

Whether you’re a classical music lover, a supporter of local performance, or simply looking for a way to back a good cause, this is certainly worth the journey to Weston.
