We were recently introduced to Urban Remedy, and for those who have not read our article from last week sit’s time to catch up!

We thought it would be great to try the products and kick off our July the right way with a three-day cleanse – mixing the Urban Remedy ‘Beauty’, ‘Soup’ and ‘Dessert’ packs together, here’s how we are tracking…

Carly
I started on Monday. I pretty much jumped out of bed ready and excited to start my day with a Kale Supreme (kale, cos lettuce, cucumber, parsley, granny smith apple, pineapple and lemon). It was full of flavour and had substance which made it easier for me to drive past my usual coffee shop and head straight into the office. After two juices, two ‘mylks’ and two soups my day was done. Day One was a breeze.

Day Two started with a green juice and went swimmingly up until about 3:00pm… I hit a slump… The Chai Mylk got me through until about 6:30pm when I desperately needed food… like real meaty, filling FOOD. All I wanted was just a little bite. I caved and had a small portion of fish and vegetables instead of my soup. The good thing is… this IS allowed! #winning

I woke up on Day Three (today) feeling good, much lighter and I guess, ‘cleansed’. I thought about how I was going to get through another day I am craving a delicious breakfast. I do feel like I have kickstarted my July though and am ready to make some better lifestyle choices when it comes to food and exercise. I even did an Xtend Barre class at lunchtime.

Melissa
Note to self (and everyone else): DO NOT wine taste the night before a juice cleanse. I almost dressed my cold tomato soup with a celery stick before drinking it with a splash of Worcestershire sauce. Saved by the Sweet Green Juice (pear, cucumber, spinach, lemon & mint), I felt this almost instantly counteracted ‘the night before’ with a boost of mid-morning energy.

Day One so far does not appear to be the challenge I expected replacing solid foods for doses of juice, soups, mylks (and cocktail thoughts). My challenge right now is how to respond to a text for a dinner invite! BYO soup?

Nic
Day One and I’m off to a good start. I’m excited by the range of flavours (but wondering if I can do soup without bread!). After lunch, I’m three bottles in and don’t feel hungry at all. The big test will be dinner tonight – and making it through another two days without a coffee.

Having watched Carly get through the process two days ahead has given me something to strive for. Perhaps it is better to do these things with a friend – moral support is everything when the caffeine cravings kick in!

Look out for our update on Friday afternoon. Has Carly binged since finishing up on Wednesday? How are Mel and Nic travelling on the afternoon of Day Three. Will we order a 5 Day Cleanse next time?
