Day Two
Nic
I rose this morning for breakfast (Urban Remedy’s ‘Zingy Carrot Juice’) with the feeling that something was missing. No, it wasn’t ‘solids’, but rather my morning coffee that typically drags my senses into focus before heading off to work. The carrot juice proved a worthy substitute, though – it’s zesty flavour stimulating the palate even if caffeine remained absent.
The routine of taking the soups, juices and ‘mylks’ every two or three hours is really easy to manage, and I still haven’t had any other real craving for other food. The smell of a colleague’s toasted Ham & Cheese sandwich did cause a brief crisis of commitment, but within moments I had my bowl of soup (‘Purifying Greens’) and was happily enjoying its sweet and fresh flavour.
I’ve hit the half-way mark and everything looks good. My only looming concern is pushing through a Friday afternoon; some end-of-week habits are VERY hard to break!

Ah ha. Yep. I responded to that text message invite with a ‘yes’. I joined the dinner party but arrived fashionably late, after I had my ‘Renewing Greens’ Soup. The rule to never turn up to a dinner party empty handed worked in my favour (I think). I took along the ‘Zingy Carrot’ juice and for some unforeseen reason, nobody was keen to share. So I happily mixed my beverage with sparkling mineral water and sipped from a champagne glass.
Today is day two and this morning I already knew what I wanted first up – the pretty coloured ‘Spiced Cranberry’ smoothie. The smoothies are quite thick in texture so breakfast time is a good fit. Keeps you going until mid morning but for me today was stretched to a midday lunch of ‘Purifying Greens’ soup. I was pretty impressed on the taste and soup is ideal for a Canberra winter lunch. The down fall of the midday lunch meant that I had my ‘Nutty Chocolate’ at 2pm and now ready to go home and see what’s next. Hunger grumbles at 5pm confuses my routine.
Only one more day to go and it’s not just any day, it’s Friday. I’ll have all eyes watching Nic like a hawk tomorrow. I don’t trust he’ll make it through the Brumbies match!

Yesterday was my ‘last day, day three’ and I am not happy to report that I completely caved and had a small sandwich for lunch… Still, I lasted two days on the Urban Remedy Cleanse and felt great. Refreshed, light and full of all the right things my body needed.
I think two days doing anything out of my normal routine is pretty good for me, and a lot of other people. It did give me a new outlook on creating a better lifestyle for myself and I have made some great healthy changes to my food and exercise schedule already. Now to stick to it.
Let’s see how Mel and Nic go tomorrow afternoon. Friday night drinks can be tempting.
Stay tuned…
