The second Bavarian pub for Canberra will open its doors in Westfield Belconnen on Wednesday, 18 September with 500 free hotdogs to giveaway from 11am.
The festivities will continue into the weekend as the venue hosts an Oktoberfest launch 21-22 September filled with feasting, fun, games and challenges, set menu and official Oktoberfest beer. The 250-guest restaurant will be transformed with multi-coloured decorations, streamers and balloons, and fun German music playing from open until close. Find the fun in the dining precinct at Westfield Belconnen shopping centre, in the previous Lone Star Rib House site.
A line-up of games and challenges will take place between 6pm and 8pm, including stein holding and yodelling. Diners are encouraged dress in their finest lederhosen or dirndl for the chance to win a $200 restaurant voucher, and the title the Best Dressed of Oktoberfest.
The menu spans classic Bavarian dishes and boasts 20 beers on tap. The Bavarian Belconnen will be pouring four famous Oktoberfest beers: Hofbräu München Oktoberfestbier, Löwenbräu Oktoberfestbier, Spaten Oktoberfestbier and Paulaner Oktoberfestbier, each of which have been imported from Bavaria. Pirate Life Fiestbier and 4 Pines Kellar Door Schwartzbier have been brewed exclusively for The Bavarian’s Oktoberfest celebrations.
