The races is a day of glamour. The boys deck themselves out in fine suits and the ladies agonise over the perfect frock and heels for a day out at the track, taking in the sights and sounds that only a race day can provide. Thanks to Seppelt Wines, the ACTTAB Melbourne Cup Day at Thoroughbred Park will feature a brand new space to rest-up between trips down to the rail to watch the horses thunder past the post.
This year, for the first time, Canberra will play host to the Seppelt Lawn Bar. Located on the front lawn, it will provide the perfect spot to try some of Australia’s best sparkling and table wines, while taking in the atmosphere of Melbourne Cup Day.
To keep you looking your best all day, Zaija will be providing massages and GHD hair touch ups in the lounge. Quite fortunately, really, as there will be scouts on the lookout for potential 2014 Myer Face of Canberra Racing contestants!
Entry to the Seppelt Lawn Bar is free, with a wide range of drinks available for purchase. For those who know how to spoil themselves, the featured tipple will be Seppelt’s signature sparkling wine – Salinger.
We can’t help but agree with Adam Carnaby, Senior Winemaker at Seppelt who is pretty excited about having such a strong presence at the Thoroughbred Park. “The Seppelt Lawn Bar really will be the place to be in Canberra on ACTTAB Melbourne Cup Race Day,” says Adam. “Racegoers can enjoy the best of regional Victorian wines whilst indulging in the spectacle of Melbourne and Canberra racing.”
Sounds great to us!
The fantastic news is that this is not the only time the Seppelt Lawn Bar is set to grace our local track. Seppelt will bring it back for the annual OutInCanberra Race ‘n’ Taste event on Sunday 17 November, and have also secured sponsorship of the Black Opal Stakes for 2014.
It’s been shaping up for another great meet at Thoroughbred Park for the 2103 ACTTAB Melbourne Cup Day. With thanks to Seppelt, it’s now looking even better!
