Commonwealth Park is the place to be this Australia Day, offering loads of activities, entertainment and fun for the whole family.

Australia Day in the Park kicks off at 7.30am with the Great Aussie Day Breakfast, proudly sponsored by ActewAGL, the Fyshwick Fresh Fruit Markets and Canberra Milk.

Families can also enjoy the fantastic Children’s Concert, featuring the popular Dora’s Dance Party. Make sure you bring your dancing shoes, because Dora needs you to spin, shake, wiggle, jump and clap your hands with her. This is a dance-filled adventure where you march past ants, wiggle around spiders, slither through snakes, dance like a fish, move like you have ants in your pants and do a pirate dance.

Local duo The Bridge Between will also keep crowds entertained at Stage 88 and kids can enjoy rides, amusements and games, make something crafty or have the Australian flag painted on their faces.

Later in the day crowds can watch pre-fireworks entertainment on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin from 6.30pm. The best vantage points are at Regatta Point and the lawns of the National Library of Australia, so be sure to get there early to secure your spot for the brilliant Australia Day Fireworks Spectacular, which promises to be a fitting way to end an action-packed Australia Day in the Capital.

In the evening, the shores of Lake Burley Griffin will come alive with a stunning fireworks display set to a great soundtrack, which will present the perfect finale to our national day celebrations.
