As always in the Festival’s 18-year history, entry to Canberra’s favourite celebration of its magnificent cultural diversity is free.
Yes, free!
There’s plenty of fun activities for all members of the family at this weekend’s extravanganza including shows, stalls, samples, dancing and celebrating.
While there are small costs associated with buying food and drink at stalls located across the festival footprint over the three days, most aspects of the event are generally free and open to everyone.
This includes entry and access to the opening concert featuring a high energy performance by Australia’s premier hip-hop artist Timomatic.
The Food and Dance Spectacular, which will ignite the city centre in a colourful swirl of cuisines and cultural performances from across the globe on February 8, this year features more than 380 stalls.
Make sure you show up hungry!
Other highlights include:
– 666 ABC India in the City, with its Bollywood inspired dance and showcase numbers, and dramatic costumes.
– The African Village, which offers an insight to life from places such as Morocco and the Congo.
– The Greek Glendi, which gives a taste of one of the Mediterranean’s most revered cultures and its amazing food.
