1. Sax on Legs at Lucky’s (QT Hotel)
Friday from 5.00pm (Happy Hour) and 10.30pm (Sax on Legs)

Here’s the way to kick off your Friday. Join the team at Lucky’s as the weekend celebration commences thanks to Newcastle’s favourite saxophonist. It’ll be a sexy mix of live music and electronic beats.

There are drink specials all night. Enjoy $5.00 basic beer, wine and spirits from 5.00pm – 8.00pm, and be sure to hang around until afterwards for 1.5 litre magnums of G.M. Mumm for only $75.00 until 11.00pm! Grab some friends and live like rock-stars. Once Sax on Legs takes the stage at 10.30pm, you’ll be ready to go large!

2. Night at the Museum – Joy

It’s an event that gets more and more popular with every edition. This Friday, experience the true happiness of the weekend at ‘Joy’. With tonnes of activities to make you happy, there will be everything from hot rods to burlesque, all of which can be enjoyed while sipping on a cocktail,

Oh, and a grown-up-sized jumping castle? It doesn’t get much happier than that!

3. Canberra Craft Beer and Cider Festival at Mercure Canberra
Saturday from 11.00pm

There’s nothing like a good brew on a weekend. This year, the CCBCF is even bigger and better, bringing a great collection of beer and cider brewers to the beautiful gardens of the old Ainslie Hotel.

Grab yourself a ticket and collect your tokens. Wander from tent-to-tent to discover all the best flavours of the upcoming winter season, as well as some classics we get to enjoy year-on-year.

4. Tocumwal Lane Party in the city.
Off Bunda Street (behind Blades)
Sunday 11.00am – 4.00pm

It’s one part of the city tis long overdue for some TLC. Finally the team from Canberra CBD (Skate in the City) have linked with Graffik Paint (every cool wall in Canberra) to put on a day where our best street artists combine to give Tocumwal Lane a makeover.

There’s be DJs, food and drink from London Burgers and Beers and Beach Burrito, as well as the chance for everyone to have a go on the canvases hanging throughout the space.

5. Jeff Martin at Transit Bar
8.00pm Sunday

There’s simply no confusing the amazing deep voice of Jeff Martin (The Tea Party). While his Canadian band was revered through the 90s and into the 00s, he’s stepped into a sterling solo career over the last ten years and released a number of albums under different guises.

Expect a beautiful acoustic show at Transit this Sunday that will take you to a happy, happy place. What a way to end the weekend?
