Style Watch

Jumpsuits are the perfect outfit for in between the Spring and Summer months. The sleeveless (or tank) styles keep you cool on warm and sunny days, while either a skinny leg or harem pant style keep your legs warm if it gets a little chilly.

The best thing about jumpsuits is that they can so easily be taken from day to night! During the day accessorise with a cute pair of sandals or ballet flats, minimal jewellery, a handbag or shoulder bag and a pair of sunnies. To glam up at night switch to a pair of heels or wedges and add more jewellery - like a chunky necklace or statement earrings with a bit of bling and swap your bag for a box or envelope clutch.

Jumpsuits come in all shapes, sizes, styles and colours imaginable, and most great stores sell them, therefore offering lots of different styling ideas!

More and more Monochrome

By Jemma Mrdak

The monochrome trend has been seen gracing the international runways and is definitely a fashion-forward trend right now. For those of you unaware, the trend involves the combination of black and white tones and patterns to form some amazing prints and textures.

OutInCanberra's Style Stalker this week, Katrina, knows exactly how to rock the monochrome trend with her gorgeous printed, gypsy inspired pants. We love the fact that she has combined these with a simple black top half which accentuates and shows off the incredible print. This combination is perfect for that day to night look as it can be worn both to the office as Katrina has done - or even for a night out.

Katrina's favourite item was her necklace which was given as a gift. We love it too, as it adds just enough flare and chic to the overall outfit. Our favourite item though? Her pants! Bought from a boutique in Sydney, we are loving their aztec print as it is definitely an eye-catcher.

Clashing Prints on Lonsdale Street

By Jemma Mrdak

If you haven’t already heard, prints are in. Not just any old print; we are talking the clashing, the colourful and the wonderful sorts of print that have been showcased on runways this season!

This perfect spring weekend, OutInCanberra found the lovely Lindsey sporting prints that are so different and eclectic that they look absolutely amazing when put together in an outfit. This is what is in, and Lindsey knows how to flaunt the look perfectly.

The striped shirt and the pineapple print shorts, although noticeably different in colour and pattern, work well together and paired with the light chambray shirt that evens out both of the clashing colours. What we love about the outfit is how effortless, but stylish and on-trend it is. Lindsey’s favourite item was the pineapple shorts (so cute!), which she bought from the Bloch store.

Lets just say that Lindsey has put this spring outfit together seriously well and it is easily an outfit that any of you ladies can try yourself this spring. It’s the perfect time of year to get out there and be creative with what you’re wearing!

A Splash of Colour in Braddon

By Jemma Mrdak

On a not-so-glorious Canberra day, the gorgeous Taylor (owner of Designer Op Shop in Braddon) was spotted outside her store looking chic and warm.

Taylor looks ever so stylish with her choice of layering and colour-blocking of accessories, and that is exactly why OutInCanberra loves what she is wearing!

Taylor has incorporated some key fashion must haves that should be in everyone’s wardrobe. The collared white shirt is a definite wardrobe staple (see Carrie Bickmore's tips here) and is perfect paired with the grey jumper. We love the layering effect of this, as well as the hint of leather on the jumper. Her black jeans and ankle boots (with a hint of skin) is what ties the look together well.

Our favourite though? The red bag! It's absolutely perfect for this outfit and is a vintage classic that adds just the right amount of colour.

Style Stalker: Carla

By Jemma Mrdak

Kingston Foreshore is one of Canberra’s most stylish places, definitely an area in which to be seen!

This weekend, OutInCanberra spotted the absolutely fabulous Carla in her off-duty weekend look. It is obvious that Carla knows exactly how to dress to impress as she combined designer Louis Vuitton with classic black, as well as a hit of metallic denim for a classy day out.

What we love is that fact that she has opted for a casual look with the black shirt and boots; however has paired it well with the gold metallic pants. Tying the look together ever so nicely is the classic Louis Vuitton handbag that fits in well with the dark colours of the outfit. An extra element that we love is that Carla has styled an up-'do which has made it easier for her outfit to stand out and for the pants to ultimately be the focus of the outfit.

So what’s our favourite part of Carla’s outfit? Her pants of course! They are fun, fresh and to some degree, add a pop of colour! We also can’t go past the Louis Vuitton- a timeless handbag that will forever be in fashion.

Pants: Glue Store

Boots: Wittner

Handbag: Louis Vuitton
