A cold winter’s night didn’t keep the Frenzal Rhomb and No Use For A Name fans away last Friday night.

ANU Bar was buzzing at 8pm when No Use For A Name took to the stage. With an entrance like no other I’ve ever seen, they started with a bang. With almost a full house the band got the crowd jumping, crowd surfing and moshing before they even hit the middle of their set list, and you couldn’t help but get carried away with their music and dance along.

After No Use For A Name left the stage, it wasn’t long before the screams of ‘Frenzal’ were heard throughout ANU long before the band took the stage.

Living up to what fans have come to expect from a Frenzal Rhomb concert, the set started with the band cracking jokes about Canberra and the outer suburbs as well as sharing drinks with those lucky enough to be in the front row.

The band spent the set talking, drinking and joking as much as they were playing their music, constantly sharing stories behind each of the songs.

Lead guitarist Lindsay McDougall got as close to the crowd as the barrier allowed, jumping off the stage and getting up close and personal to many fans.

If you wanted to enjoy a quiet night of live music, then this wasn’t the place to be. With constant crowd surfing, many almost knocking the speakers off the stage, the crowd were loud and crazy, screaming the lyrics to a number of hits including ‘Bird Attack’, ‘White World’ and ‘Never Had So Much Fun’.

Frenzal Rhomb will release their new album Smoko At The Pet Food Factory on August 19th.
