The NRL Grand Final is locked in, with the Sydney Roosters taking on the Newcastle Knights this Sunday night.

Kick-off is at 7.30pm, and there are plenty of big screens, cold drinks and pub feeds around Canberra ready for the occasion.

Here are six spots to settle in for the big game.

Walt & Burley, Kingston Foreshore

Walt & Burley

For footy with a lakeside view, Walt & Burley is the place to go.

Grab a spot inside or out and settle in by the lake for the game. It’s also a good pick if you’re after a proper meal rather than just bar snacks, with plenty from the kitchen to keep you going through the match.

Bookings are available if you want to lock in a table.

Assembly, Braddon

If you want to stay close to the city, Assembly is going big for Grand Final night.

Known as “the people’s pub,” the Lonsdale Street venue will have the game live across its big screens, with the kitchen and bar running throughout the evening.

Bookings are recommended, so it’s worth locking in a table rather than leaving your seat to chance.

Edgar’s Inn, Ainslie

Edgars Inn

If you’re after a more relaxed spot for Grand Final night, Edgar’s in Ainslie is a great option.

Settle in downstairs with a pub meal or a pizza from Mama Dough, grab a drink and stay put for the game.

Bookings are recommended if you want to guarantee a table.

Casey Jones, Casey

Northsiders can head to Casey Jones, where the Grand Final will be shown across multiple screens, including the venue’s projector.

With plenty of space, a full pub menu and drinks flowing throughout the night, it’s a solid option if you want to settle in early and stay for the game.

Bookings are recommended, although walk-ins are welcome.

The Tradies, Dickson

The Tradies in Dickson has plenty of room to grab dinner, find a seat and watch the game.

Head to Essence Restaurant for a proper meal or Bluey’s Cafe for something more casual, then catch the action from the Lounge Bar.

Walk-ins are welcome, but getting there early will give you the best shot at a good view.

The Mawson Club, Mawson

The Mawson Club

Southsiders can head to The Mawson Club, which has a dedicated NRL Grand Final event lined up for Sunday.

With plenty of room, food available on site and the game on the screens, it’s an easy option if you don’t feel like heading into the city.

Bookings are available and worth making if you want to lock in a table.

Before You Head Out

Grand Final night gets busy, so if you’ve got your heart set on a particular venue, it’s worth booking ahead or checking its socials before heading out.
