Your plans for Australia day are sorted! On Tuesday 26th January Lake Burley Griffin is coming to life with “The Great Aussie Picnic”, featuring five action-packed entertainment hubs and one huge ticketed concert with Aussie classic live performances from, James Reyne, Daryl Braithwaite, Lee Kernaghan & more.

The event will be kicking off at 11 am, with the bridge to bridge walk becoming a buzz of entertainment with 5 free picnic-style hubs, including acrobats, live kids music from Tim & The Fuzzy Fellows, dance performances & more.

Fully licensed bars and a host of Canberra’s very best food trucks will be dishing up perfect Aust Day eats at all HUB locations(excluding ankle-biters). You can head to the ‘Rhythm & Brews Hub’ to sample Canberra’s finest brews and live original music curated by Music ACT, the ‘Rockin Regatta’ for great Aussie pub soundtracks, the ‘Sand Groove’s’ at Aspen Island which will be featuring Canberra’s best DJs or the ‘Garden Jive’ Jazz club!

The Massive Stage 88 Australia Day Concert featuring a truly iconic line up (James Reyne, Daryl Braithwaite, Lee Kernaghan & more) is an all-ages event, with socially distanced picnic-style seating. tickets are strictly limited so we strongly recommend buying early! COVID Safety marshals will be on hand to help maintain COVID Safe practises at each Picnic Hub and direct attendees to hygiene facilities such as handwashing and sanitiser. Entry to each Free Picnic Hub and the ticketed Stage 88 hub will require mandatory check-in with the ‘CHECK-IN CBR APP’. Please note that you will not be allowed access if you do not use the app. Each of the 6 event locations has been registered, so please charge your phone and familiarise yourself with this the app.
