If you haven’t already jumped on the trend, the running culture in Canberra is thriving and there are run clubs popping up everywhere. So you can choose the best one for you, we’ve rounded up a list of clubs you can join in the capital!


Running for Resilience is a community running group that meets at The Dock at the Kingston Foreshore on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, for a walk or run, and then a drink and chat afterwards. They aim to empower people to overcome their personal struggles by never giving up and keeping moving.


One of the largest and most well-known run clubs in Canberra, Canberra Runners, offers a variety of training sessions, social and competitive runs, and events for runners of all levels.


If you’re after a super social, relaxed run that’s centred around meeting new people and getting coffee afterwards, Underground Run Club is the one. They meet at Močan & Green Grout in the city every Sunday at 7am.


Parkrun is a 5km community walk, jog, or run that starts at 8am every Saturday across a number of Canberra locations, such as Mount Ainslie. You can also reward yourself and enjoy a post parkrun coffee at a local cafe with everyone. You can find your closest parkrun here.


Chafe Chasers is an all-inclusive and all-season Canberra run club that meets at the anchor down at Lake Burley Griffin for a 5km run or walk loop twice a week. Be sure to keep up with their socials for any updates, as well as some special collabs and events.


Sunday Sesh CBR is a run club that meets in Barton every week and is all about supporting the community and starting the week with a bang. They encourage all levels of runners to join and smash their running goals.


As the name suggests, Pub Runners start and end at a variety of great local pubs across Canberra. They meet every Tuesday evening for a timed 5km run and welcome all levels and ages of runners to join in and stay for a drink or dinner afterwards.


Canberra Frontrunners is an inclusive and diverse running and walking group for LGBTQIA+ people and allies in Canberra. They pop up at different locations around Canberra, so be sure to check out their socials for their monthly calendars, as well as their non-running social events.


A friendly and inclusive Canberra running group, The Speedygeese meet at lunchtime on Mondays and Thursdays at the lawns of Parliament House. Find out all the info on their Facebook Group here.


Achilles Running Club Canberra allows you to develop your walking or running abilities with the encouragement of friendly, trained volunteers. They kick off at 8am on the first, third, and fifth Sunday of each month around Lake Ginninderra.
