Join the Hellenic Club Woden on Sunday 14 February for a Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year celebration of delicious Yum Cha and a spectacular lion dancers performance. This year the event will be running three times during the day; 11:30 am, and 1:15 pm will host a Ginseng Yum Cha performance and 4 pm there will be a downstairs foyer performance. Have your taste of Chinese cuisine at the Canberra Labor Club as they celebrate the Lunar New Year’s beginning on Friday, February 12. From 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm indulge in the club’s three-course set menu with everyone’s favourites including san choy bao, Peking duck and fried king prawns. Australian Royal Mint

To celebrate the Lunar New Year the Australian Royal Mint will release zodiac collectable coins and host an activity session on Friday 29 January. At 10:30 am or 11:15 am learn about the zodiac animals, particularly 2021’s zodiac, the Ox and later create your own Ox coin boxes and decorate them with the Oxen’s lucky colours. Welcome in the Year of the Metal Ox with XO. From 11-27 February, the restaurant will be dishing up a traditional Chinese New Year 8-course share set menu with a distinctive Australian summer twist.
