Canberra’s newest weekly farmers market open at Haig Park, Braddon, on 7th February 2021.

The markets provide the opportunity for local farmers and producers to sell directly to the public in the beautiful surroundings of Haig Park. Run by Local Village Markets, the market will be filled with fresh, nutritious, quality produce and products from local and regional producers and businesses.

The Haig Park Village Markets will be an evolving collaboration of farmers, bakers, artisans and talented people, seeking to share their crafted specialties. With a growing list of quality stallholders, organisers anticipate hosting some of the regions best at the weekly event.

Some of the key weekly stallholders include; Banjo’s Paddock – Organic Vegetable Farm, Origin Bake, May Farm Flowers, Portland Free Range Eggs and Honey, Cannoli Brothers, Dream Cuisine, Mamma Rita’s Farm, Coco’s Plant-Powered, and La Empanada.

Haig Park Village Markets will be operating every Sunday, rain, hail or shine, from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm. There will be live music, delicious food and places to relax at the market which will eventually also include a host of community initiatives such as workshops, discussions, and activities to provide a way for locals to connect.

Directors Rosie Green and Alexandra Webb are proud Canberrans who grew up in the bush capital and are passionate about supporting and promoting regional farmers, creative talent and local businesses.

Director Alexandra Webb commented: “Markets are not just about selling produce and craft, they are a community within a community – a place to come together, get to know one another and celebrate everything that is local.”

Working together with regional growers and local business, Local Village Markets will create a lively and community-driven market that seeks to become a destination for locals and visitors alike.
