Posen smokes

Smouldering and very ‘Posen,’ Zac Posen’s latest Fall runway collection showed a bevy of chic 70’s tailoring with a modern, ‘smoky’ edge.

The modern was in the detail and this extended to his doe eyed girls, donning dark, smoky eyes as their main beauty trick.

Black Opal Fashions on the Field Review

Black Opal 2010 was a muddy affair. But the persistent rain didn’t stop the show ponies from emerging in high heels and dainty headwear, in anticipation for the Myer Fashions on the Field competition.

For the first race on the Canberra Autumn racing calendar, the Fashion’s on the Field stage didn’t see much of this season’s trends, with only sprinklings of metallics, nudes and strong shoulders making a show. Instead, racegoers opted for traditional black and white in classic silhouettes, with leather gloves aplenty.

New faces announced at Black Opal

The Myer Face of Canberra Racing and OutInCanberra’s Favourite Face: Public Vote was announced on Sunday at the Black Opal Stakes Day, Thoroughbred Park.

The poised Aprelle Coady was crowned the Myer Face of Canberra Racing 2010 and she looked the part in a Coco Chanel inspired suit and leather gloves.

OutInCanberra’s Favourite Face: Public Vote was also announced with Emma Wannell awarded the public’s favourite.

The 21 year old student is in her fourth year of a Bachelor of Politics and International Relations, and loves to get OutInCanberra.
