Australian Burlesque Festival 2012

The Australian Burlesque Festival 2012 is back! After two amazing sold-out tours in 2010 and 2011, the festival is back on 22nd June at Erindale Theatre.

Four well-respected international performers star in the festival; Anna Fur Laxis (UK), Coco Framboise (Candada), Loulou D/Vil (Finland) and Peekaboo Pointe (US). Touring alongside are six local superstarsl Dolores Daiquiri (VIC), Rosy Rabbit (VIC), Tasia (NSW), Imogen Kelly (NSW), Vesper White (VIC) and Danica Lee (NSW).

The show runs from 9-11pm and is not suitable for children. The cost is $55 per ticket.

Set in a seaside resort in the Caucasus, the story revolves around n’er do well, Laevsky (Andrew Scott) and his illegitimate relationship with his mistress Nadya (Fiona Glascott). Working with master cinematographer Paul Sarossy (The Sweet Hereafter), director Dover Kosashvili (Late Marriage) has made a beautifully cinematic and accessible movie that is sensuous, passionate and dramatic.
