Hostage Lounge Bar & Tapas only opened their Challis Street doors two months ago, but the concept and location are so perfect it seems almost insane the space is so young. Contemporary furnishings of fire-engine red, jet black and steely grey dot a space unassuming and meek from the outside – but the lay out combination of towering bar tables and low slung lounge-style seating, a striking corner bar and walls of windows create a vast, almost industrial warehouse, open space inside.

Taste It Festival this week

Taste It Festival 2012 is more than half-way through and this week is packed with amazing dining Taste It experiences.

From Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th November, it is that time of the year for beers, bratwursts and fun! Oktoberfest is geared up to be a big one, spread out over three days.

Being held at Budawang Building at EPIC, tickets vary in price. Tickets cost $15 for Friday night, $20 for Saturday and $10 for Sunday.

Sound Search Winners!

Kicks Entertainment, OutInCanberra and Raw FM are proud to announce the winners of Foreshore Sound Search competition for 2012.

The Canberra Sound Search finals were held on Friday 26th October at Academy Club and the Wagga Sound Search finals were held on Saturday 27th October at Romano’s Hotel.

One act (either band or DJ) from each final was going to win a set at Foreshore. All of the acts were judged with the exact same criteria – crowd reaction and interaction, originality and skill.

Paul Kelly – Stories of Me- on Friday 2nd November at The Canberra Theatre Centre, follows the amazing life of one of Australia’s most gifted and beloved singer-songwriters.

The feature-length film shows Kelly speaking candidly about the people who have helped shape his life and music. It also includes never-before-seen live performances, interviews with Kelly’s family members and much more.

There will be a live performance from Paul Kelly following the film’s screening.
