Corinbank 2012

On 30th November to 2nd December, The Brindabella Mountains is turned into a 3-day event, Corinbank Music and Arts Festival!

The site has changed and they have reconfigured the festival site to make the most of the beautiful dry spaces.

Corinbank will be showcasing musicians, visual artists and performing artists. Corinbank is for people of all ages and there are heaps of activities to keep the kids happy too – juggling, devilsticks, stilits, rola-bolas, hula-hoops, walking beams and more.

RENT

Everyman Theatre presents RENT to Canberra. Based loosely on Puccini’a La Boheme, Jonathan Larson’s RENT tells the story of a group of young artists learning to survive, falling in love, finding their voices and living for today.

RENT is being performed at The Canberra Theatre Centre from 6th-22nd December. Tickets vary in price.

SAFIA Blog Entry Three

Only one sleep until Foreshore now! The set is all rehearsed, the gear is all packed and we can’t wait to get up on stage to open for some of our favorite artists going around at the moment.

This week has been predominantly taken up by rehearsals and interviews, including an article on the front page of the Entertainer, in the Chronicle and a couple of features for various blogs. However, as you can imagine we are keen to just get up on stage and do our thing now.

Liam Budge

Catch Liam Budge at The Abbey on Sunday 2nd December from 6.30pm.

Liam Budge has quickly established himself as a rising star in the Australian Jazz scene. This year has already seen him win the prestigious James Morrison Jazz Scholarship, and participate as a mentor in the Juilliard Jazz program. Over the last fours years Liam has performed extensively around Australia, performing at events such as the National Gallery’s re-opening and as the featured artist at Tropfest.
