Commit No Nuisance

Commit No Nuisance is an art battle that will be on display at LA DE DA in Belconnen on Saturday 22nd December at 8pm.

Each edition, a new group of artist’s battle on a 2.4m square surface with a blank canvas and improvise as they go. There are two teams of three and they battle for 90 minutes. The battle victor is decided by the public each time a drink is purchased and a voting token is provided and then placed in a container at the foot of either team.

Japanese Film Festival

The Japanese Film Festival (JFF) is being held at the National Film & Sound Archive on the 7th to the 16th December 2012.

The JFF started in 1997 with three free film screenings by Festival Director Masafumi Konomi.

Ticket prices are $11 for adults, $9 for concessions, $5 school screenings and $8 ‘Max’ pass which is 10 tickets.

As twilight set in, the twinkling fairy lights twined round the garden came out, as did some native wildlife in the form of a baby ring-tailed possum, playing in the rain guttering of old Gorman house. The atmosphere was bordering on surreal perfection and raised one notch further as we were invited inside to our Sage dinner table.
